Studio

K-ARC is an architecture studio based in Edinburgh. The studio designs buildings and spaces that are settled in their context, gentle in their impact and, most importantly, reflective of their clients.

K-ARC looks beyond the pragmatic brief and likes to learn about the clients interests and eccentricities to steer designs, believing these are often the richest sources of inspiration (we really mean this - see testimonials below). The historical, physical and social context of projects is also researched and referenced to help give projects a sense of belonging and enduring relevance. This process is paired with a refined aesthetic and the promotion of honest, conscientious materials.

K-ARC has worked in a variety of sectors across the U.K. and in Europe, with particular experience in residential projects and bar/restaurant design.

People

K-ARC was founded by Kyle Cowper. Kyle qualified as an architect in 2015 in London. Whilst in London, Kyle worked at award winning, design-led practices on a variety of residential and commercial projects. Originally from Edinburgh, Kyle returned to his home town and set up K-ARC shortly after. He appreciates design that is quiet yet assured, and enjoys the honest expression of a buildings parts as well as the use of natural materials. Outside the office, Kyle is a keen tennis, squash and golf player, and enjoys hand drawing, live music and the great outdoors.

K-ARC works with a number of collaborators on a project by project basis, both in the U.K. and Europe.
