Studio

K-ARC is an architecture studio based in Edinburgh. The studios work is underpinned by a drive to provide refined, honest and distinct proposals that respond to client aspirations and site contexts.

Through exploring and testing ideas, K-ARC aims to arrive at designs that have simple clarity. The historical, physical and social context of projects are researched and analysed to ensure proposals have a sense of belonging and timelessness. This process results in each project being defined by its own unique set of parameters and resonating with its setting.

K-ARC has worked in a variety of sectors across the U.K. and in Europe, with particular experience in residential projects and bar/restaurant design.

People

K-ARC was founded by Kyle Cowper. Kyle qualified as an architect in 2015 from Westminster University, London. Whilst in London, Kyle worked at award winning, design-led practices on a variety of residential and commercial projects. Originally from Edinburgh, Kyle returned to his home town and set up K-ARC shortly after. He appreciates design that is quiet yet assured, and enjoys the honest expression of a buildings components and materials. Outside the office, Kyle is a keen tennis, squash and golf player, and enjoys hand drawing, live music and the great outdoors.

K-ARC works with a number of collaborators on a project by project basis, both in the U.K. and Europe.
